Milo- Jeannine Forrest Ames, 94, passed away peacefully at home, on February 18, 2026.


Jeannine was born January 4, 1932, in Brownville, to Ernest and Mildred (Stubbs) Forrest. She went to Brownville Junction High School and had several jobs throughout her life, one being Dexter Shoe where she earned the nickname “Dolly”. She retired from Dexter Shoe with 28 years under her belt. Jeannine enjoyed camping with her husband and kids and later in life her grandbabies. She also enjoyed kicking back on the porch with a cold “Bud” listening to Annie’s Song with her husband.


Jeannine is survived by her husband, Norman Ames; her children, Mack Pelkey Jr., Deborah Cota, Robin Everett and Troy Ames. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved deeply. She was predeceased by her loving parents and her son Samuel Pelkey, who was waiting for her with open arms and a cold beer; her brothers, George Forrest, Ronnie Forrest, Norman Forrest, Jerry Forrest, and her sister, Gloria Cassio.
