Milo - Karen Horne Clark, 82, passed away February 22, 2026. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, July 18, 1943, the daughter of Allan E. Horne and Norma (Greene) Horne.
Karen graduated from Milo High School in 1961. She then graduated from the Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Radiology in 1963 and went on to work at Milo Community Hospital for 2 years. After that, she moved on to the U.S. Postal Service and remained for 30 years until her retirement. She married Michael Lee Clark Sr. in 1965 and they remained married for nearly 60 years, before Michael’s passing late last year.
She had a lot of school and town pride. She was a lifelong member of United Baptist Church. Over the years she served 13 years on the MSAD 41 school board and was a member of the Red Hatters. She was also a big fan of Milo sports; she played basketball and softball during her time there and continued to attend games her whole life.
She was the family photographer and archivist, taking all of the photos, even when we didn’t want them taken. She was very interested in genealogy, tracing family members back to the 1600’s. Her chart was so large it covered the entire door of her office. Through her decades of professional retirement (yes, she had a business card), she and Michael enjoyed a lot of travel.
She is survived by daughter, Tanis Pomerleau and husband, Don; son, Michael “Lee” Clark Jr.; grandchildren, Jaimee Lambert and husband, Greg, Jessica Holland and partner, Paul, Christina “Kat” Holland; and great-granddaughter, Idris. She is also survived by her siblings, Norman "Tom" Horne, Howard "Hap" Horne, and Janet H. Richards and husband Donnie; sister-in-law, Lorette Clark; brother-in-law, Larry Keef; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ricky; her sister, Linda Keef; her husband, Michael; her daughter, Tonilyn; her brother-in-law, Perry Clark; her sisters-in-law, Nancy Bowley, and husband, Carleton, and Carol Horne; and a son in law, Dan Thibodeau.
A memorial service will be conducted 11AM Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the United Baptist Church in Milo, followed by refreshments. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church Library Fund, 8 Pleasant Street, Milo, Maine 04463. Spring burial will be in the family lot in the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
