Greenville – Delores “Dolly” A. Harris, 83, passed away peacefully January 11, 2026, at Northern Light CA Dean Hospital, in Greenville, surrounded by her loving immediate family. She was born December 28, 1942, in Greenville and was the daughter of Ralph and Effie (Hamlin) King.
Dolly grew up in Greenville, where she attended the Greenville school system, and after her school years is when she met Bobby who would become her husband of 63 years. Early after their marriage, she and Bobby welcomed their first child, Bo into the world, followed by their second child Joey, 5 years later. Dolly was a stay-at-home Mom until her kids were older, and then went to work at Big Squaw Mountain Ski Resort in the laundry department, and then onto C.A. Dean hospital where she would work up until her retirement in 2007. Dolly loved her family, but in 1989 all things changed when Bo and Sandy welcomed Leslie into the world, and she and Bobby would become better known as Mam and Bamp. Dakota, Joey’s son would follow in 1993, as these two became her world. Chasing her grandkids around to different sporting events from soccer, basketball, hockey, softball, baseball, and track would become one of her passions. Scrapbooking would become her next passion, as she and a group of ladies that she adored would go on scrapbook retreats. Dotty Gagne, Kim Plourde, Rachel Shufelt, Natalie Stafford, Kathy Cobb, were always a part of stories that she would tell from those retreats. In the year 2010 was the start of the greats as she called them, Dakota and Kaitlyn welcomed Khloee that year followed by Wyatt in 2015. The greats didn’t allow for much down time as soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball always had them on road trips. In 2024 Joey married Julie and they received their bonus grandchild, another Khloe as she plays soccer and lacrosse, so even more road trips that were always welcomed. Dating way back into the early 1970’s until just a few years ago, she would frequent the Harris Drug Store to have coffee with way too many wonderful ladies to list, and she called all of them her friends.
Dolly is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bobby) Harris Sr.; son, Joey Harris and his wife, Julie; daughter-in-law, Sandy Harris; grandchildren, Leslie Harris, Dakota Harris and his wife, Kaitlyn, and Khloe Currier; great-grandchildren, Khloee and Wyatt Harris; brother, Gary Caron and his wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Elaine Roberts; brother-in-law, William Harris; several nieces and nephews; cousins; her beloved cats, Izzy and Dusty; and very special friends, Kim Plourde, Pearl Whitney, Racheal Shufelt, and Bonnie Dubien. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Robert “Bo” Harris Jr.; and sister, Mary Cecile Caron, and 2 very special dogs, Taffy and Dixie.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northern Light C.A. Dean for the incredible care that she received, and the comfort that was extended to all family members. Zac Walden, Trica Tolman, Lisa Peracca, Kaley Ottmann, Kathy Cobb, and Dr. Joe Babbitt, your compassion that was given was heart felt!
