Monson - William Judd Granger Sr., 82, passed away December 26, 2025, at home with his family by his side. He was born May 24, 1943, in Bristol, Connecticut, the son of Clarence and Pauline (Zareck) Granger.
Bill graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and upon graduation joined the Air Force where he served as an airman third class until he was honorably discharged. Upon arrival home his life quickly fell into place when he bought his Chevrolet Chevelle, began working at Pratt and Whitney (where he stayed for almost 40 years), and began dating Lenora due to her liking the “nice car” he had bought. They married in the Episcopal Church and faith guided him upon retirement to move to their honeymoon spot of Monson, and he served for St Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Dover-Foxcroft. Bill loved airplanes and Formula One racing his whole life. Due to his love of flying, Bill gained a small pilot’s license and often traveled to attend Formula One races in the United States and Canada with his wife, Lenora, by his side.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Lenora (Fucini) Granger; daughter, Lara Granger and her wife, Leanna; two granddaughters, Jacqueline Levesque and Jessica Levesque and her fiancee, Ashley; great-granddaughter, Riley Lapierre; son, William Granger Jr. and his family; and special friends, the Wyman family. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Dale Granger; and sister, JoAnn Danis.
A memorial service with military honors will be held 1PM Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft, with Rev. Nancy Moore officiating. After the service family and friends are invited to St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 1213 Dexter Road, Dover-Foxcroft for continued gathering and celebrating Bill's life. William and his family would like to extend a special thanks and ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Monson Fire and Rescue, 10 Tenney Hill Road, Monson, ME 04464. The family understands that travel can be difficult, so a memorial service will also be held in Connecticut in the spring and those who wish to attend will be notified of arrangements once they are made. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
