Marlon G. Woodard Obituary

Guilford – Marlon G. Woodard, 82, passed away November 23, 2025, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, with his loving family by his side. He was born November 19, 1943, in Parkman, the son of Llewellyn and Marion Woodard. Marlon worked as a debarker for Hardwood Products for many years. Marlon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. He also loved going to jams and dances. Family was of the utmost importance and he loved them all deeply. Marlon will be remembered as the local “junk man”.


He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen “Ruby” Woodard; daughter, Tawnya Shelley and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Nicole Thibodeau, Elizabeth Beane, Veronica Lytle, and Jacob Marston; great-grandchildren, Renea, Caleb, Morgan, Gracie, Sierra, Harper, and Daxton; three brothers, Donn Woodard, Darrell Woodard and partner, Debbie, and Dennis Woodard and his partner, Betty; sister, Virginia Brown; son-in-law, Ron Lytle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Bailey, Rose and Scott Leland, and Liza Rogers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, who all have a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his father, Llewellyn Woodard; mother, Marion Brown; step-father, Stanley Brown; daughters, Marlene Lytle and Melissa Bubar; granddaughter, Jessica Sprague; brothers, Duane and Sheldon Woodard; sisters, Glendene Woodard, Charlene Williams, Debra Brown, and Lorraine Lambert; and his best friend, Leon Walker.


A celebration of Marlon's life will be held at 2PM Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Grace Bible Church, Sangerville. There will be a potluck and everyone wanting to bring food is welcome. Burial will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
