Etna - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Kimberly Mae Anderson, 50, of Etna and formerly of Abbot. Kimberly passed away after a brief illness on November 20, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Kimberly was born February 7, 1975, in Dover-Foxcroft.
Kimberly worked for many years in various certified nursing assistant roles in the central Maine area. Kim’s greatest joys in life came from her family and friends, which she seemed to collect everywhere she went. Kimberly was extremely proud of her sons, Brandon and Trevon, who she loved and looked forward to spending time with as much as possible. She met her beloved husband, Paul Anderson, by caring for his mother at Hibbard’s Nursing Home. Kim and Paul were fortunate enough to go on a number of adventures, three-wheeler rides, concerts, and trips together and she was always excited to have people join them to share in the memories. Paul’s entire family was lucky enough to have her become “GiGi” to their grandchildren, Heidi and Harper. Kim always went out of her way to make sure everyone knew exactly how much she loved and cared for them, yet she was surprised when those whom she loved so dearly came together to throw her a surprise 50th birthday party earlier this year. Kim was also the person that brought the most Christmas magic, hosting elaborate parties with Santa for all of the children in her life each year. Kimberly also made the best deviled eggs. Another thing about Kim is that even though she had a blended family, she never thought of anybody as “step” or “half”– she always loved with her whole heart and she made sure everyone knew how much they meant to her.
Kim is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Trevon Baird and his wonderful girlfriend, Emily; son Brandon Baird, his wife, Christie, and young sons, Grayson and Mason; step-daughter, Kayla Ericksson, her husband, Leif, and daughters, Heidi and Harper; step-daughter, Kelsie Snow and her husband, Jason; mother, Beverly Smith; brothers, Kenny and Kelly Simpson; sister, Angie Wilmot; dear friends Jodi Bean and Louise Jehnings. Kimberly was predeceased by her father, Steve Smith, and beloved friend, Tarsha Duby.
Family and friends are invited to visit 5PM Friday, December 5, until a time of remembrance at 6:30PM at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
