Dover-Foxcroft – Joyce “Jody” S. Hinson 91, passed away November 4, 2025, at Westgate Manor in Bangor. She was born May 23, 1934, in Quincy, Massachusetts, the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Flint) Simpson.

Jody was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. She spent many years in public service as an elementary school teacher in Jacksonville Florida, and Monson and Vanceboro, Maine. She also worked for Penquis Cap and traveled in the worst of conditions during the winter to make sure people were kept warm and fed. Jody continued her public service in the Monson Library and helped in the town office until retirement. Her number one job was being a mother. She had a very soft spoken voice and demeanor until it came to her family then she was fierce. As a devoted Catholic, she sought out a parish where ever she lived and attended Mass regularly.

Jody is survived by her three sons, Wade, Craig, and Mark Hinson and his wife, Julie; four grandchildren, Andrew, David, Sarah and Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Elianah and Roman. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Edward Simpson; and her son, Clay Hinson.

A memorial service will be held 11AM Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Lary Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Monson. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
