Greenville – Linda Hubbard McBrierty, 77, passed away October 17, 2025, in Greenville surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 17, 1948, in Greenville, the daughter of Harold E. and Etta (Marsh) Hubbard.
A lifelong resident of Greenville, Linda loved the history and sense of community in her hometown. She dedicated her life to the institutions she loved– teaching at Greenville Schools, a librarian at Shaw Public Library, Director and Board Member of Moosehead Historical Society, and member and Deacon at the Union Evangelical Church. In her later years Linda enjoyed being part of the Jackman community where she worked at Forest Hills. Gardening, genealogy, and collecting books by Maine authors were among her favorite pastimes.
Linda was predeceased by her loving husband, Alan McBrierty; parents, Harold and Etta Hubbard; sister, Donna Hubbard; and brother-in-law, Clowes Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Brown and her husband, Troy; step-son, Bryan McBrierty; step-daughter, Elizabeth McBrierty; five grandchildren, Zoe Brown, Katie and Cooper McBrierty, and Andrew and Grace Ireland; sister, Patty Brown; and niece, Laura Pollis and husband, Steve, and their son, Bensyn.
Memorial visitations will be held 5-7PM Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Lary Funeral Home Greenville Chapel located in the Masonic Lodge at 281 Pritham Avenue. A private graveside service will be held for the family in Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
