Neal Andrew Williams Obituary

Shirley - Neal Andrew Williams, 75, passed away on October 12, 2025, at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta. Born November 9, 1949, raised by Dana and Mary (Wheelock) Williams, Neal lived a life of courage, faith, and service.


He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1981, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 in Military Intelligence. A Vietnam veteran, he was twice wounded in combat and received two Purple Hearts and two Army Commendation Medals.


On January 4, 1974, Neal married Jeanna G. (Johnson) Williams in the Salt Lake City Temple. They shared 51 years together, raising two children, Travis (Berkeley) Williams and Addie (Christian) White, and eight grandchildren: Amara, Evan, Calvin and Henry Williams; Eliana, Julia, Andrew, and Vivian White.


Neal was active in many veterans’ organizations and volunteered tirelessly to support fellow service members. Neal served as past Commander and Service Officer of the Maine Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and as a national board member of the PVA. A devoted Latter-day Saint, he exemplified love, integrity, and devotion to family.


A memorial service will be held Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dover-Foxcroft, with viewing at 10 AM. Burial will be at 2 PM at Hillside Cemetery in Monson. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
