Dover-Foxcroft, ME - Aaron C. Merrill, 51, passed from this life on September 23, 2025. He was loved deeply by his family and will be sorely missed. He was born on April 10, 1974, to John and Barbara Merrill in Greenville, ME. Aaron was the youngest of three children, one brother and one sister.
He graduated from Brewer High School, The Job Corps program for Automotive Mechanics, and later participated in classes for Airplane Mechanics. He lived in Georgia for many years working in Residential and Interstate Construction. After returning to Maine, he helped to care for his brother who was ill, and later his grandmother.
Aaron had a deep appreciation for the natural world and spent hours enjoying the outdoors. His love for nature was matched by a passion for movies and art, where he found entertainment, inspiration, and a creative outlet. Known for his adventurous spirit, he was an adrenaline enthusiast who felt most at home behind the wheel of a fast car or operating machinery. He lived life fully, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dwight and Patricia Merrill, and Arthur Hitchcock; his father, John Merrill; and his brother, Andrew Merrill. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Asa and Amanda Merrill; granddaughter, Marceline J.L. Merrill; mother and stepfather, Barbara and Richard Parker; sister, Julie Chabot; grandmother, Jean Hitchcock; as well as the families of several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Pine Grove Cemetery at Branns Mill Pond in Dover-Foxcroft. Followed by a (weather permitting) outdoor gathering, held at 1325 Bear Hill Road, Dover-Foxcroft
Cemetery Directions: Follow Bear Hill Rd from Dover-Foxcroft to the end. At the bridge, turn left. Bear right and park at the road.
