Abbot – Linda J. Palmer, 82, passed away at Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born in 1943, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Gordon and Doris (McKay) Lyon.

Linda loved hunting, canoeing, camping, and snowmobiling. She enjoyed traveling and reminisced often of her adventure to Alaska with life-long friends and chaperoning school trips to Europe. She was ready for the next adventure, but always looked forward to returning to the community she called home. Linda cherished her relationships with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her son, Scott Palmer and his husband, Edward Lewis; sister, Alta Fortier and her husband, Gary; in-laws, Robert Palmer, Mary Jane Armstrong and her husband, Wayne, Lavance Armstrong, and Rosalie Heath and her husband, Robert; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to her loving husband, Ralph Palmer, she was predeceased by her parents, and her brother-in-law, David Armstrong.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, at 11AM at the Guilford United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ellen Bridge officiating. After the funeral service, refreshments will be served in the church’s reception hall. A private burial will be held in the Abbot Village Cemetery.
