Francis "Maynard" Ames Jr. Obituary

Greenville – Francis “Maynard” Ames Jr., 58, passed away July 28, 2025. He was born December 21, 1966, the only child to Francis and Madalene (Goodwin) Ames.  Maynard worked in the woods as a woodsman and operator most of his life. When he wasn’t working in the woods he enjoyed fishing, hunting, fourwheeling, and visiting with friends.


Maynard was predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind his beloved, Auntie Sue (Susan Ames); his cousin, SGT Joseph Hart and his wife, Amber, and their three children Justyce, Gavin and Marck and his fiancée, Chelsey Warman; and his cousin Jean Whiting. He also leaves behind his beloved animals, Patty the cat, and Bandit and Pepperann, who he shared with Sue and Jean. He leaves behind his best friend, Bobby Boucher of Greenville as well.


The will be holding a celebration of life at 12Noon Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Bartley Family Event Center in Greenville. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed atwww.laryfuneralhome.com.
