Dennis H. Hatch Obituary

Milo – Dennis H. Hatch, 85, passed away July 29, 2025, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born July 10, 1940, at home in Ripley, the son of Lindell and Edith (Richardson) Hatch. Dennis grew up in Ripley and attended Dexter Schools, graduating from Dexter High School, Class of 1960. He married the love of his life, Alice Chase, February 15, 1964.

After working at Beard Atomic in Boston, he and Alice returned to Milo where he worked at the B&A Railroad and Artist Chevrolet and then they owned and operated the Frosty Bite. He then opened his own auto body shop on First Street in Milo. He remained in automobiles for over 30 years. He loved to take crumpled metal and make it a beautiful car. Before retiring they owned and operated Reuben’s Country Store for 10 years.

Dennis enjoyed camp at Schoodic Lake, water skiing and sailing sunfish boats. He restored a 1942 Chevy which he and Alice drove in parades and took to car shows. Most of all he liked to putter in the garage.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Alice, of Milo; two daughters, Julie Royal and her husband, Kendall, and Theresa McMannus and her husband, Lee, all of Milo; two granddaughters, Morgan Gray and her husband, Chris, and their two sons, Brody and Cayden, of Sebec, and Rachel McMannus of Fort Kent; two sisters, Velora Reed and her husband, Cliff of Carmel, and Linda Reed of Candia, NH. He was predeceased by his parents, and brother-in-law, Delmont Reed.
