Obituary of Craig Morgan Andrews
Dover-Foxcroft - Craig Morgan Andrews, 86, passed away peacefully June 16, 2025, surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s . Craig was born April 5, 1939, in Sangerville, the son of Henry and Emma Andrews. He had three older brothers, Joe, Skip, and Conway Andrews. Craig could be found as a kid on Black Stream, reading, blowing things up, and chumming with his best friend, Carlson Williams. He graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1957, and then went to Maine vocational school and studied electronics. After his schooling he went to work for AT&T in Boston. A year later he married Darlene Larson from Dexter and they resided in Boston where their son, Craig Jr. was born. Craig was transferred to Andover, Maine, where his daughter, Heidi was born. It was there that he worked on the Telstar project. It was the first satellite communications ever. The company then transferred him back to his hometown of Dover-Foxcroft. Craig and Darlene moved to Sebec a few years after his retirement.
Craig always enjoyed being on the go. He was always headed on his next adventure. Craig had a love of speed, whether it was on skis, snowmobiles, or his beloved catamaran. He enjoyed spending time with his family, trips out west, camping at Jo Mary, many trips up north on snowmobiles, and most recently checkers with his great-granddaughter, Genevieve LeProvost.
A special thank you to Beacon Hospice , and the incredible team of Pam and Amanda; his granddaughter, Erika, whom he cherished from the moment he laid eyes on her; and his daughter, Heidi, and son-in-law, Rene Martinez, who helped in his care from the beginning. He also had many friends that became his family that live all over the world and he cherished whatever time and adventures that might include.
Burial will be in the family lot in the Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
