Obituary of Elrick LaGoy

Elrick LaGoy, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on June 14, 2025, at the age of 60, after courageously battling numerous health issues in recent years. Born on September 20, 1964, Elrick lived a life defined by selflessness, quiet strength, persistent devotion to those he loved, and an unwavering faith in God. Though he never had children of his own, Elrick was like a father to many. His countless nieces and nephews remember him not only as a guiding presence but also as someone who gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his heart. He was a steady hand and a comforting voice, always putting others first and never expecting anything in return. Elrick is survived by his two sisters, Sarahne Ray and Cheyenne Ryberg, and his two brothers, Brian LaGoy Jr. and Rick Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brian LaGoy Sr. and Louise Mogenson, as well as his brother, Barry Niles. In his younger years, Elrick managed a manufacturing company with dedication and a tireless work ethic that inspired those around him. He was also a man of many skills and talents. A true craftsman—good with his hands and capable of fixing just about anything. But his greatest legacy was not in his career—it was in how he lived: with humility, generosity, and a deep appreciation for life. Each day, to Elrick, was a blessing, and he made it his purpose to be a blessing to others. Elrick’s presence in our lives was a true gift. He will be remembered for his integrity, his courage, and his compassion that he so freely gave, touching the lives of many. Elrick was a blessing, and he made it his purpose to be a blessing to others. A private memorial will be held by the family. In honoring Elrick’s spirit, the family encourages others to perform a kind deed in his memory—lend your hands, share your wisdom, and live each day with gratitude.
