Jason A. Richardson Obituary

Dover-Foxcroft - Jason Richardson, 34, born January 28, 1991, in Dover-Foxcroft to Ken and Pam Richardson, died peacefully June 3, 2025, in his home with his family and friends by his side after a long battle with gastroparesis.

Jason had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. He especially enjoyed his time with his nieces and nephews, who were his pride and joy. They went on many hikes, did crafts, and just enjoyed sitting around and talking. Most of all he loved spending quality time with his family and friends.

Jason was a volunteer for PAWS animal shelter in Milo and the Center Theater. He was president of Maine Transnet, leading support groups in Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft. He was an advocate and fought for the LGBTQ community, mental health illnesses, and chronic illnesses.

Jason was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Dian Bonsey; his paternal grandparents, William and Alice Richardson; his very special uncle, Mike Bonsey; and a very special cousin, Amanda Curry.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Pamela Richardson; sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Justin Ames; extremely special nieces and nephews, Lexi Richardson, Carter Richardson, Alexis, Ames, Bailey Ames, and Colton Ames; grandmother, Marilyn Richardson; aunts, Kimberly Thayer (David), Kelly Hutchinson (Brett); his very special furry babies, Sheba and Eli; many cousins; and his chosen family, Tallis Aalryn, Mark Rieke, Jackson Rieke, and Ty and April Duval.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Amanda, Pam, Michelle, Chaplain Gail, and Dr. Seay at Beacon Hospice, and Auntie Kelly, Ty, April, Tallis, and Quinn for their amazing care of Jason throughout this difficult time.

There will be a celebration of Jason’s life on Friday June 20th, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at the American Legion Hall in Dover-Foxcroft. In lieu of flowers, Jason has requested donations be made to Maine Transnet for selfcare of employees and volunteers.
