Obituary of Sieferd C. Schultz

Guilford – Sieferd C. Schultz, 91, passed away peacefully May 16, 2025, at Hilltop Manor in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born April 3, 1934, in Guilford, the son of Sieferd and Ruth (Monroe) Schultz. Raised and educated in Guilford and Sangerville, Sieferd proudly served as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Department of the Air Force for 21 years. His military career took him to Long Island, New York; the Azores off the coast of Portugal; Alaska; Charleston, Maine Air Force Base; Kilmer, New Jersey; and Boston, and took on roles as a night watchman and a teacher. Sieferd’s life was rich with interests and passions. He especially enjoyed cruising the Caribbean with his wife and family, as well as traveling out west alongside his two brothers. A skilled woodworker and avid train enthusiast, he also found joy in reading, landscaping, and tending to his flower gardens. A devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, he cherished time spent with loved ones above all else. His generosity was far-reaching. A lifelong member of the Guilford Historical Society, he held roles as President and Treasurer and contributed through endowments and book writing. He established scholarship funds for PCHS in memory of his mother and children and made numerous charitable donations throughout his life. Sieferd is survived by his wife, Madeline (Priest) Schultz; step-daughters, Cindy Woodworth and her husband Brian, Heidi Dellaire, Alessandra Turati, and Pami Hall; grandchildren, Bryan White, Corie White, and Katie Hall; family friend, Robert White; cousins, Kerry, Lance, Scott, Shawn and Kyle Monroe; nieces, Charlene Lukasevics and Melissa Espinosa; step-nephew, Scott Chasse and his wife Heather; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and special friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Alan T. Schultz; step-son, Scott R. Willey; brothers, Alan C. Schultz and Nolan T. Schultz; cousins, Eric Nesbit and Dane Monroe; and grand nephew, Joshua Schwartz. Thank you to Northern Light Primary Care Sangerville & Mayo Hospital, Hibbard’s Nursing Home, Hilltop Manor, Preferred Therapy and Bristol Hospice for all your help and care. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held 2PM Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Lawn Cemetery, Guilford with Pastor David Mumford of Dover-Foxcroft officiating.
