Obituary of George "Butch" Woodbury Jr.
Greenville - George Bradford Woodbury Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, skilled craftsman, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, with his wife of 42 years and sons by his side, after a short but debilitating battle with Corticobasal Degeneration—a rare brain disease.
Born on March 18, 1955, in Durham, Maine, Butch grew up with a deep appreciation for family and hard work. A proud graduate of Greeley High School, Class of 1973, he dedicated his life to both his loved ones and his craft. As the owner of Woodbury’s Custom Carpentry for over 30 years, he was a master carpenter with an unmatched eye for detail, creating beautiful and lasting work that will stand as a testament to his talent for generations to come.
Above all, Butch was a family man. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was immeasurable, and he took great pride in being there for those he cherished. In 2020, he bravely battled and defeated laryngeal cancer, celebrating five years cancer-free this year—proof of his strength and resilience.
Butch is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Woodbury; his sons, Nathan and his wife, Beca, and Corey and his wife, Carly; his mother, Inez Johnson, and stepfather, Frank Johnson; his brother, Woody; and his sisters, Melinda, Georgia, and Tonya. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and his treasured grandchildren: Gary, Ashlynn, Connor, Macie, Ocean, Peyton, Weston, Gracelynn, Piper, Aria, Barrett, Sophia, and Colby.
He is reunited in peace with his father, George Bradford Woodbury Sr.; his brother, Loren Woodbury; his daughter, Jessica Lavigne; and his son, George Bradford Woodbury III.
Butch’s legacy of love, strength, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
