Brownville Junction - Murray F. MacDonald, 96, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born June 7, 1928, in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Murdock A. MacDonald Sr. and Clara (nee Murray) MacDonald.
Murray served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. After attending the DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, he worked in Fort Worth, TX as an electrician on F-16 airplanes for General Dynamics before retiring to Maine.
Besides traveling extensively, Murray enjoyed following sports, particularly hockey, the Red Sox and the Patriots. He loved spending time at his camp on Schoodic Lake and with his family. His kindness and generosity will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his niece, Bethany Worster and her husband, Todd of Williamsburg; great-nieces, Rachel (Stanley) Marczyk of Providence, RI, and Lauren (Tyler) Pelletier of Milo; great-nephew, Reid Worster of Williamsburg; and nephew, Murray A. MacDonald of North Tonawanda, NY. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Murdock A. MacDonald Jr. and his brother’s wife, Carolyn (nee Farrar) MacDonald.
A committal service with military honors will be 11AM Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Pine Tree Cemetery in Brownville Junction. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
