Greenville – George C. Murray Sr., 78, passed away January 22, 2025, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor, with his loving wife by his side. He was born July 16, 1946, in Greenville, the son of Thomas E. and Lucille (Volz) Murray. George was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1965-1973 in Vietnam as an E Staff Sergeant. He work for NAPA for 30 years and was a full time mechanic out of his home. George enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and was an avid collector of trains.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Hanlon) Murray; sons, George Murray Jr. and his wife, Christine, and Timothy Murray; daughter, Valerie Murray; sister, Judy Murray; sister-in-law, Kathy Murray; step-sons, Kristopher Arguin and David Arguin and his wife, Tiffany; step-daughters, Roberta and Terry; special friends, Dave and Sue Leland, and Kevin and Diane Jacobs; special friend and neighbor, Tanya Ward; and special cousins, Beth Patrick and Derek and Mairead Murphy; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Darryl Murray; and brother-in-law, Eugene Murray.
