Lagrange – Jacquelyn “Jackie” I. (Decker) Spencer, 77, passed away peacefully June 18, 2024, at Westgate in Bangor surrounded by love. She was born August 18, 1946, in Milo.
Family was so important to Jackie and she thoroughly immersed herself in the role of family matriarch. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she delighted in all the cooking, shopping, decorating, and family getting together enjoying laughter and fun.
Jackie held many jobs in her life but her time at Dorothea Dix managing the kitchen was the job she enjoyed most and felt most proud of. Jackie loved being the boss.
Jackie is survived by her children, Greg (Sue) Allen, Cliff (Brenda) Allen, and Amy (Rod) Bubar; grandchildren, Ashley (Doug) Flatley, Rodney (Ashley) Bubar, Brady (Jackie) Bubar, Vanessa, Wayne, Sarah and Justin, as well as several great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Sheila Turner, Tommy Decker, Kaneen Eaton, Alan Decker, and Dennis Decker; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and her lifelong friend, Cynthia Brackett, also feel the loss. She was predeceased by her dad, Thomas Decker; stepmother, Phyllis; sister, Sheryl Chase; past husband, Ralph Spencer; and her significant other, Gleason Morrison of 30 plus years.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and love to ALL the wonderfully caring and compassionate people at Westgate who became a second family to Jackie.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at 12noon Friday, June 21, 2024, until time of funeral service at 1PM, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Raymond Boobar officiating. Burial at the family lot in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lagrange, will be immediately after the funeral. A celebration of Jackie's life will be held on August 18, 2024, beginning at noon at the Lagrange Firehouse. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
