Parkman - Omar M. Davis, 86, passed away peacefully March 14, 2018, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft with his family by his side.  He was born to the late George and Esther (Stilson) Davis on June 1, 1931, in Parkman, where he lived all of his life, married to his loving wife “Betty” Elizabeth (Beaver) of 64 years.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Omar worked in the woods business for many years. Omar was a family man who took great pride in his family.  He was always ready to lend a hand or an ear, give a hug or hold a baby. He instilled his love for hunting, fishing, family, and land in his children and grandchildren and will be fondly remembered for his stories, advice, and quiet strength. His door and arms were always open.

In addition to his wife, Omar is survived by their children, Milan Davis of Parkman, and Kathleen (Davis) Starbird and her husband, Jere, of Sangerville, and predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Davis. He will be sadly missed but forever remembered by his grandchildren whom he adored: Barrett and Hillary Starbird (Carter & Reese), Brock and Kari Starbird (Kamren), Kasey and Jody Knowles (Jacob, Grady, and Emmy), Justin and Jessica Spack (Elaina), and Darbie Davis. Omar was one of 11 children, predeceased by siblings, Lloyd Davis, Marvin Davis, Millard Davis, Carolyn Woodard, Hildred Kimball, Barbara Thurlow and Fern Beckwith, and survived by siblings, Elaine McKenzie, Wayne Davis, and Wade Davis.

A memorial service honoring Omar’s life will be held March 31, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church. A private spring burial will be held at Pingree Center Cemetery in Parkman, Maine. In lieu of flowers, spend time with your family and teach a child to hunt or fish.
