Obituary of Charles L. Woodmancy

Abbot- Charles L. Woodmancy (Woody), 81, passed away November 22, 2017, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft surrounded by family and friends.  He was born June 29, 1936, in East Hartford, CT, the son of Leon and Marie (Haerle) Woodmancy. Chuck retired to Maine after 38 years at Pratt & Whitney as a Shop Superintendent in the Welding Department. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially appreciated hunting, fishing, hiking, and making maple syrup. Chuck served as President of the East Glastonbury Fish and Game Club two times, coached pony league baseball, and served 4 years as the representative from Abbot on the MSAD 4 School Board.  He will be remembered as an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and University of Connecticut Women’s Basketball.

Charles is predeceased by his son, Charles and survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy (Parent) Woodmancy of Abbot; three sons, Darrin and his wife, Judy, of Marlborough, CT, Keith and his wife, Joan, of Enfield, CT, and Christopher and his wife, Erin, of Manchester, CT; four granddaughters, Amanda Cislak and her husband, Jeremy, and Sarahanne, Rachel, and Anna Woodmancy; great-grandson, Abel Cislak; and daughter-in-law, Rose Woodmancy. He will be missed by many treasured friends, and especially, Jim Lane, Patty Lacy, Donna and Galen Vanio and the Herrick family. We would like to thank these special friends for all they have done for us.

A graveside memorial service will be held in the family lot in Blanchard Cemetery, Abbot, in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, C/O Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.  Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
