Palmyra – Dorothy M. Austin, 88, wife of the late Malcolm E. Austin, died March 17, 2017, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born May 31, 1928, in Palmyra, the daughter of Elmer and Elsie (Parsons) Lawrence. Dorothy and Malcolm lived in Stoughton, MA, for many years and raised their family there. After 53 years of marriage, Dorothy lived on in the house she and Malcolm built together in Palmyra. Dorothy leaves her son, Floyd Austin and his wife, Jo-Anne, of Palmyra; his sisters, Hazel Chadbourne and Arlene Frati, both of Maine, and Christine Hollis of Connecticut; seven grandchildren, Kelley (Austin) O’Connell and her husband, Tom, of Maryland, Michael K. Austin of Massachusetts, Sharon (Austin) McCarthy and her husband, Michael, of Massachusetts, Brenda (Austin) Burger and her husband, Kevin, of Ohio, Lynne (Austin) Lavini and her husband, Giancarlo, of Massachusetts, Ross McMann and his wife, Amida, and Shawn McMann and his wife, Danielle, of Florida. She will be missed by her nine great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Crowe, Madelyn O’Connell, Austin and Hannah McCarthy, Brianna and Sebastian Lavini, Neeman and Tahlia McMann; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl Lawrence and Arnold Lawrence; a sister, Myrtle Page; a son, Errol Austin and his wife, Christine Austin; and a daughter, Arlene McMann.
