Obituary of Harold "Hank" M. Meade

Please share a memory of Harold "Hank" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dover-Foxcroft- Harold “Hank” M. Meade, 96, passed away March 6, 2017, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born January 5, 1921, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Daniel and Annie (Lary) Meade. A U.S. Army Air Corps WWII veteran, Harold worked many years as a woodman and dairy farmer. Later in life, he enjoyed working for Penquis CAP doing odd jobs for the elderly. Through Harold’s great appreciation of the outdoors and love for hunting, fishing, and camping, he became a Registered Maine Guide. In his later years he was known for singing many of the “old tunes.” Don't be surprised if in the future you hear a chorus of angels singing something about a “Little Brown Jug.” Harold is survived by his son, Daniel and his wife, Wendy, of Norridgewock; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther (Perkins) Meade; his son, Ronald Meade; two brothers, Lloyd and Daniel Meade; and two sisters, Thelma Harlow and Virginia Ruksznis. Family and friends are invited to visit 12 noon Saturday, March 18, 2017, until time of service at 1pm at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastor Mark Stevens officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
