Obituary of Arlene J. Jankunas

Please share a memory of Arlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tarpon Springs, FL - Arlene “Lee” J. Jankunas passed away peacefully February 4, 2017, at Mease Countryside Hospital, in Safety Harbor, FL. She was born March 13, 1943, in Elizabeth, NJ, to Henry and Dorothy Lihou. She lived in Maine from 1975 to 1990 and disliked the cold and snow the entire time. She moved back to New Jersey and later moved to Florida to live with her sister where she could stay warm. Arlene's life was all about her children and her pets. She would do anything for them. She was constantly spoiling her grandchildren and grand pets. She always put others needs in front of her own. In fact, she was even willing to spend a few winters back in Maine to spend time with her kids and grandchildren despite her dislike of the cold. She loved to read, play solitaire, do puzzles and smoke cigarettes. Arlene is survived by sisters, Joan Smyth and Brenda Henderson; her children, Robert and wife, Karen, Kevin and wife, Stacey, and Steven; 4 grandchildren, James, Kyle, Shaelyn, Alex; as well as grand-pets of Jinx, Nala, and Tiger. Friends are invited to call from 1pm until time of memorial service at 2pm, Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arlene's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, directly on their website or mailed to American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State Street, Augusta, ME 04330. Condolences may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
