Dover-Foxcroft - Marshall W. Spaulding, Jr., 94, husband of the late Martha E. (Willard) Spaulding, passed away January 7, 2017, at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick. He was born February 28, 1922, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Marshall W. Sr. and Hazel E. (Hewett) Spaulding. A World War II Veteran, Marshall served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He worked for many years for Fay Scott before owning and operating M&M Variety and Central Maine Exterminating Service, all in Dexter. Marshall was a member of the American Legion and VFW, and the Church of the Nazarene in Dover-Foxcroft. He is survived by three sons, Dana Spaulding and his wife, Mary, Bruce and his wife, Loanne, and Steven Spaulding; daughter, Carol Poulin; 12 grandchildren, Kevin Spaulding and his wife, Brenda, Kathy Vargas and her husband, John, Mitchell Spaulding and his wife, Nikki, Andrew Spaulding and his wife, Katie, Tony Poulin and his wife, Krista, Marc Poulin and his wife, Marcy, Danielle Stewart and her husband, Jason, David Spaulding and his wife, Mikey, Joseph Spaulding, Briana Spaulding, Alex Spaulding, and Caleb Spaulding; 20 great-grandchildren, Megan, Marc, John Jr., Krissy, Emma, Chloe, Sophie, Will, Eli, Josie, Aiden, Amber, Rachel, Nicholas, Maci, Mariah, Maranda, Tyeler, Baylee, and Landen; two brothers, Aubrey Spaulding, and Harlan Spaulding and his wife, Phyllis; sister, Charlene Page; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Marshall’s wife, Martha, he was predeceased by a great-grandson, Jayden Stewart; great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Poulin; brother, Merle Spaulding; and three sisters, Maxine Cole, Irma Knowles, and Beverly Gallison. A graveside memorial service will be conducted in the spring at the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Guilford.
