Lakeview - Lois G. Trask passed away peacefully on December 3, 2016, surrounded by her family, and beloved cats, after a long courageous fight with cancer that took her life but not her spirit. She was born March 2, 1945, in Milo, the daughter of Dana R. and Pauline A. (Hoxie) Grindle. She was a graduate of Milo High School. Lois worked in the insurance business for over 40 years. She was a long time member and former president of the Milo Garden Club as well as a charter member and longtime secretary of the Kiwanis Club for which she received the honor of 25 years of dedicated service. She volunteered at the Friends Club for many years and was a member of the United Baptist Church. Lois was a very talented artist and taught many the skill of painting. If Lois couldn't be in her gardens to plant and be eaten by black flies, then she was painting, her passion whose art work has graced many a home and touched many a life. Lois had many talents, one was her incredible whoopie pies. Lois enjoyed traveling. She was able to visit her beloved and most enjoyable destination of Ireland one more time with friends before her passing. This woman of grace is survived by her son, Brian and his wife, Tammy, of Milo; a beloved brother, Paul Grindle and his wife, Ruby, of Surprise, AZ; her beloved sisters, Laurel Libby and her husband, Dale, of Buffalo, SC, and Shirley George and her husband, Roger, of Bangor; her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Trask, currently serving in the United States Air Force in Niger, Africa, Emily Trask, and Lukas Trask of Milo; three step-grandchildren, Timothy Driscoll and his wife, Ashley, of Lancaster, MA, Laura Driscoll of Milo, and Sarah Lemik and her husband, Daniel and their two children, Handsome and Olivia, of Milo; her beloved godchild, Andrew George of Atlanta, GA; her beloved nephew, Adam George of Boston, MA; several nieces and nephews whom she loved and was blessed with, including Matthew Grindle and his partner, Daniel Durak of Chicago, IL, Michael Grindle of Surprise, AZ, Mark Libby and his wife, Lory, of Swansea, MA, and Melissa Whitefield and her husband, Larry, of Clemson, SC; several great grand nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her beloved and dear friends, Laurel Richardson of Bangor, Sandra Gray of Lakeview, Ken Beauchemin of Lakeview, and Kay Stone of Brownville. There are many in this world whom Lois has touched with her passion for life and the love she gave in her every day ways. Friends are invited to call 6-8pm Friday, December 9, 2016, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A funeral service will be conducted 3pm Saturday, December 10, at the Milo United Baptist Church, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating.
